Practice

For students

The traineeship is offered in three streams: summer, autumn and spring. We offer four activities to help you plan your career. The internship is special – you’ll improve your skills by teaching, studying methodology, translating or producing texts.

 

Try out some of the activities during your internship and find out about further job opportunities at Nordisk or get our recommendations. We welcome interns who are bold and open-minded, who want to try their hand at it, and who want to learn a lot of practical information about working with Scandinavian and Lithuanian languages. Get to know the formal requirements of a translation document, observe the lecturer’s work in the classroom and help develop training materials on smart platforms. And during the internship, you are invited to participate in all the community and team events at Nordic Directions, so there will be no shortage of practice and activities.

Internship opportunities

Areas of practice

Students divide their practice hours between different areas and carry out their tasks remotely, communicating and collaborating with coordinators and lecturers. The duration of the internship may vary depending on whether the internship is independent or professional.

  • training (classroom observation, assisting the lecturer, training practice, etc.)
  • translation (theoretical assignments, working with translation software, reviewing and analysing translations, testing translations, ordering translations, administration),
  • the development of methodological material (e-School, tests, course development, development of training material for children, updating of smart tool material),
  • media and communication (creation and management of social media content, cultural texts, strategy development)
  • sales and marketing (contributing to sales strategies, proposing ideas and initiatives, participating in their implementation, expanding customer base, market analysis)

We are working hard to improve our processes and training materials, so we invite anyone who is interested in growing together to join us. We organise seminars and invite teachers to take part in various training courses so that they can grow with our language school. While most classes are taught remotely and using digital teaching tools in our virtual learning environment, eSchool, we also have groups or individual students who learn in live groups.
